Milwaukee developer building 330 Pasco County apartments

Eshenbaugh Land Co. has sold a 21-acre property in Pasco County that the new owners plan to build apartments on.

The parcel is off of State Road 52 along McKendree Road in San Antonio. Continental Properties, the buyer, paid $7.7 million for it.

Eshenbaugh says Wisconsin-based Continental will build a 330-unit apartment community on the site. It will be called the Springs at Abbey Crossings and be built in the 245-acre Abbey Crossings master-planned development.

The gated apartment community will have a mix of studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom units, each with smart-home technology. Select apartments will have attached garages, Continental says.

The expectation is for pre-leasing to begin in the spring, the clubhouse to open in August and the first residential building to open in September.

Springs at Abbey Crossings will be just the latest addition to the national multifamily developer’s already significant Florida portfolio.

Continental currently has 20 properties across the state, with a big piece of that portfolio along the Gulf coast. According to its website, it has three communities in Fort Myers, two each in Bradenton, Cape Coral and Port Charlotte and one in Estero. A Palmetto apartment complex is coming soon according the site.

In all, the suburban Milwaukee Continental has developed over 142 apartment communities totaling more than 39,000 units in 20 states.
