A Michigan biomedical and advanced respiratory rental company has acquired a majority interest in a Sarasota business specializing in CPAP and respiratory accessories that will enable the Florida firm to scale. Trace Medical announced the partnership with LiViliti Health Products Monday. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition comes after LiViliti recently received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its Paptizer 360, a device that reduces bacteria on CPAP mask cushions.

"Partnering with Trace Medical under a majority acquisition provides us with the scale, logistical expertise and distribution power necessary to make this technology accessible across the continuum of care," CEO and founder of LiViliti Health Products Brian Sharpe says in the statement.

Established in 2004, Trace Medical conducts ventilator rentals across the continuum of care, including skilled nursing facilities, rehabilitation hospitals, hospice and home medical equipment providers. The company is based in Whitmore Lake, Michigan.

LiViliti Health Products, which has its headquarters in Sarasota, was founded in 2019. Its website says it is now “powered by Trace Medical.”
