TSA PreCheck enrollment available at SRQ

Those who want to enroll in TSA PreCheck can now get into the program at Sarasota Bradenton International Airport. Being a member enables people to keep things like their shoes and belts on and leave their laptops in carry-on bags when going through airport security checkpoints overseen by the Transportation Security Administration.

CLEAR, the authorized TSA PreCheck enrollment provider offering the service, offers enrollment at nearly 60 airports nationwide and is expanding its footprint, first announcing service out of SRQ on March 24.

"TSA PreCheck through CLEAR provides a fast and efficient airport experience," CLEAR CEO Caryn Seidman Becker says in a statement. "This is a win-win for U.S. travelers."

About 99% of TSA PreCheck travelers get through airport security in less than 10 minutes, according to a statement.

To enroll in the program, people can start online with CLEAR then finish by visiting SRQ with required documents (e.g., a passport or a driver’s license and birth certificate), or they can complete the entire enrollment in person. Enrollment costs $77.95 and lasts for five years, according to CLEAR.

The TSA PreCheck enrollment station at SRQ is in Terminal B on the second level near the arrivals area. It is marked with TSA PreCheck and CLEAR signage. Hours are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays to Sundays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays.

A separate TSA PreCheck enrollment provider, Telos, offers enrollment at several locations in the region, for $85 for five years:
