The Business Observer’s 2025 Top 50 Contractors list, an annual ranking of the largest contractors in the region, is a showcase of growth in the building and construction sectors.
And despite the economic upheaval and political uncertainty of 2024, on a cumulative basis the 50 companies on the list surpassed $9 billion in revenue in 2024 — the first time passing that threshold. In total, the 50 companies combined for $9.15 billion in revenue in 2024, up 9.1% from $8.38 billion in cumulative revenue in 2023.
As in past years, the Top 50 — companies self-submit information — is open to contractors in the Business Observer’s coverage area, from Polk County south through Collier County, from Lakeland to Tampa to Naples. Companies must be in some type of contracting field: electrical, general construction, roofing, HVAC, landscaping, plumbing and more.
