Colombia’s largest airline, Avianca Airlines, announced in December that it would be flying a new route out of Tampa International Airport to Bogota, Colombia starting March 30, 2025. To prepare for the new route, it recently secured a three-year contract with Eulen Aviation, a Doral-based aviation services company, that will be providing ground handling services.
The work includes passenger services and baggage acceptance, wheelchair services for passengers, ramp services for baggage and marshalling aircraft, cabin cleaning and water and lavatory service.
“We are excited to strengthen our presence at Tampa International Airport and partner with Avianca Airlines,” says John Jones, vice-president of aviation operations for the United States and the Caribbean. “This partnership is a testament to our dedication to providing high-quality ground services and our ongoing commitment to the growth of the aviation industry. We look forward to playing a key role in supporting Avianca’s continued expansion and delivering excellent service for both the airline and its passengers.”
Eulen currently has 108 employees on the ground at TPA serving other brands such as Delta and Aeromexico and is currently training its staff for the new route.
Eulen Aviation is under parent company Grupo Eulen, a Madrid-based firm formed in 1962. It now operates in 11 countries. The U.S. arm of the company has 3,000 employees.
