For travelers trying to figure out the best way from parking lot to paradise, the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority launched a new shuttle service from St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport to several hotel stops in Clearwater Beach, including Sand Key hotels, Sheraton Sand Key and Marriott Sand Key.

Presented as a counter to more expensive rideshare options, prices start at $8 for one person, $20 for a group of 2-4, or $30 for a group of 5-8 and can be booked on demand or up to two months in advance. If no slots are available, the service, dubbed the Grouper, will also book taxis at the same rates when shuttles are fully booked, according to a statement.

“We are thrilled to introduce this new transit service, providing visitors with a seamless, stress free connection between PIE and world-famous Clearwater Beach,” says Chairman of the Pinellas County Commission and PSTA board member Brian Scott in the statement. “This service enhances accessibility, supports local tourism, and ensures travelers can experience our beautiful beaches with greater ease and convenience.”

The shuttles can accommodate up to nine people, wheelchairs, and luggage. Rides can be booked online at PSTA.net/grouper or through the Grouper app on iPhone or Android.
