Tampa is about to go green in an unusual way. STM Canna, a Washington state manufacturer of cannabis processing machinery, chose Tampa as the soil for its roots on the East Coast.

“We were looking to set up a regional headquarters on the East Coast to serve our growing customer base, and we fell in love with the Tampa area,” says Jason Dueweke, CEO of STM Canna. “Bringing in our East Coast customers to Tampa to see our new showroom is going to be a game changer for us. This is the beginning of an exciting new chapter for us, and we are thrilled to be a part of this growing and thriving community.”

The showroom will be in a 2,676-square-foot space the company leased in the Bank of America Plaza downtown, according to a statement from the Tampa Bay Economic Development Council. The company plans to add 20 new jobs over the next three years with the move.

STM Canna was founded in Washington, the first state to legalize marijuana, in 2017. It provides machinery for all parts of the joint rolling process in bulk: grinding, packing, weighing, infusing and closing. The firm has rolled "tens of thousands" of joints in its machines, according to its website
