The South Seas Resort, a luxury development on Captiva Island, closed out 2024 with a record sale: a $9.67 million purchase of a five-bedroom, four-and-a-half bathroom private residence.
The sale, according to the listing brokerage, John R. Wood Christie’s International Real Estate, was the highest-priced residential sale ever at the resort. According to Southwest Florida MLS records, the sale, as of Jan. 2, ranks No.8 all-time in residential sales on Lee County’s Captiva Island. The Gulf-front residence property, dubbed Sosianna-SEArendipity, is at 1119 Schefflera Court.
John R. Wood Christie vice president and broker LeAne Suarez from the LeAne Suarez Group listed and sold the property, the release states.
The sellers, Lee County property records show, are Marcel Schwendimann and Jodi Schwendimann, through a trust with a Minnesota address. The buyer, according to property records, is Caroline A. Glicksman. The purchasing deed for the Captiva house lists an address in New Jersey for Glickman that matches one for Dr. Caroline Glicksman, a nationally recognized plastic surgeon.
The transaction, meanwhile, according to the statement, was a “collaborative effort by LSG, Estate Management Construction and Ashley Suarez, an attorney and partner with Roetzel & Andress.” The sale, the release adds “underscores the resilience of Captiva’s real estate market despite challenges posed by Hurricanes Helene and Milton, which caused significant ground-level damage to the property.” Estate Management Construction “swiftly and expertly restored” the property, the release states.
“We’ve fostered relationships with this home buyer for more than 30 years while supporting the seller through the entire process,” says Suarez in the release. “Situated on one of the island’s most coveted streets, Sosianna-SEArendipity offers both privacy and accessibility, with pristine beaches and outdoor activities just moments away.”
The home’s interior finishes, the release states, include white oak flooring, a Quanta quartz waterfall island and shaker-style cabinetry. Exterior features include a standing seam aluminum roof, Hardie board siding, hurricane-rated impact windows and a 45k kilowatt commercial generator.
The home was completely renovated in 2019. It’s also been sold two other times in the past eight years: once, in 2018, for $4.3 million and again in 2021, for $5.8 million. Lee County records show.
