Lee County Port Authority names new COO and aviation leader

The agency that operates Southwest Florida International Airport and Page Field in Fort Myers adds a member to its C-suite.

The Lee County Port Authority has a new chief operating officer and deputy executive director of aviation. Steven Roque will lead the aviation division of more than 300 employees at Southwest Florida International Airport and Page Field in Fort Myers.

Roque will also oversee fiscal, operational and administrative management of airport operations, contract management, maintenance, aircraft rescue and fire fighting department, the Lee County Port Authority Police Department and Page Field.

Roque brings more than 20 years of aviation, leadership and stakeholder development experience to the port authority, according to a statement from the agency. Before joining the Lee County Port Authority, Roque was the assistant vice president of infrastructure maintenance at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). He also held leadership positions at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Houston, where he oversaw operations for five terminal buildings.
