A distinctive piece of real estate on South Tamiami Trail in Sarasota has changed hands. The blue and green building on U.S. 41 at Constitution Boulevard sold this February for $1.83 million.

The seller is SRQ2020 LLC. Previously, the building housed a business called the Ability Center that also operated under the United Access brand until at least summer 2024. It sold wheelchair-accessible vans and handled service, parts and rentals. By the end of the year, the business had shuttered, and the only United Access location remaining in Florida currently is in Orlando.

Located across U.S. 41 from Phillippi Estate Park, the building at 5611 S. Tamiami Trail is now vacant. Painted blue and white with green trim around the roof, the structure was built in 1960 and sits on 0.89-acres, property records show.

The buyer is 5350 Keystone LLC, which corresponds to a used car dealership called Carmel Motors at 5350 N. Keystone Ave. in Indianapolis, Indiana. Representatives at the dealership confirmed that the company had “potential Florida expansion” plans in email and text messages to the Business Observer but did not provide any further information.

The Sarasota property is zoned commercial intensive, meaning it can be used for high intensity commercial development and automotive-oriented uses that require highly visible and accessible locations to serve large sections of the county rather than just a neighborhood.

In 2019 Campbell Motors Inc. sold the property for $1.6 million to Off Lease Cars Only LLC, records show, before SRQ2020 took ownership for $100 in April 2020.

Melinda Garrett of Michael Saunders & Co. handled the February sale to 5350 Keystone LLC.
