The former owner of a Bradenton cabinet company was sentenced this week to serve 30 months in state prison, court documents show. Ryan Nobles, 46, was also ordered to be on probation for 27 years by a Manatee County Circuit Court judge.

Nobles, who police say was the co-owner of M&L Cabinets, was convicted of misapplying $100,000 or more of construction funds. He continued to collect money from clients while failing to deliver products, according to the criminal complaint filed against him.

Nobles and his partner in the business, Nicole Anderson, were arrested in September 2023 following a seven-month investigation by Detective Michael Carpenter of the Bradenton Police Department.

Officials began investigating after customers of M&L Cabinets, located at 7320 Manatee Ave. W., complained to police that they made down payments for kitchen renovations that were either never started or not completed. Police said that nearly two dozen customers had paid from several thousand to tens of thousands of dollars for products and services in the case. Investigators also determined that M&L Cabinets had failed to pay for cabinets it received from a supplier.

Nobles charged about $220,000 from August 2022 to January 2023 using his company credit card aboard cruise ships and at casinos in Tampa, Fort Lauderdale and Las Vegas, police said.

He has not yet been ordered to pay restitution, but police say it will be determined during a future court date.

Anderson was convicted last spring in a felony scheme to defraud over $50,000. She was sentenced to 21 months in prison, ordered to pay nearly $90,000 in restitution and will be on probation for 20 years, officials say.
