Healthy restaurant celebrates Sarasota County grand opening

A new healthy restaurant that opened in south Sarasota County this fall is holding a grand opening celebration. Bowled Co. invites the community to its location in Wellen Park on Dec. 4 to experience the restaurant, which is the first for the franchise on the west coast of Florida.

Mariah Fortune and Greg Landolfo, who live part-time in Wellen Park, are the owners and operators of the eatery, which features salads, rice bowls, smoothies, wraps and acai bowls. 

“We’re incredibly excited to be part of Wellen Park,” Fortune says in a statement. “As part-time residents, we immediately felt the need for a healthy, convenient concept here. This community values lifestyle, wellness, and good food — and Bowled fits perfectly.”

Fortune and Landolfo were part of the original corporate startup team of Bowled Co., which was founded in 2019 in Schenectady, New York. They later sold their shares and stayed with the brand as franchisees and master partner developers for the Southeast region, according to a statement.

Bowled Co. has more than a dozen locations, mostly in New York, with three in South Carolina and two in Florida. The other Bowled Co. in the Sunshine State is in Greenacres, with another set to open soon in Destin.

To celebrate its grand opening in Wellen Park, the restaurant at 12141 Mercado Drive will offer $5 menu items from 4-7 p.m. Dec. 4. The first 100 guests will also receive a $10 gift card for a future visit.
