After only a few months, the United States Attorney for the Middle District of Florida again has new leadership. Gregory W. Kehoe has been appointed by Attorney General Pam Bondi to serve as Interim United States Attorney for the Middle District of Florida.

He replaces outgoing U.S. Attorney Sara C. Sweeney, who took the post in February of this year.

Kehoe was most recently a shareholder at the Tampa-based law firm of Greenberg Traurig, according to a statement. Prior to joining the firm, he held several international postings in Europe, Asia and South America as a prosecutor for the U.S. Department of Justice over the course of two decades.

While an Assistant U.S. Attorney Kehoe prosecuted high-profile cases involving financial institutions and corporate fraud allegations and racketeering charges, according to the release from the Middle District of Florida office.

Kehoe notably led the team of lawyers and investigators which advised the Iraqi Special Tribunal, later renamed the Iraqi High Tribunal, an ad hoc court formed to prosecute Saddam Hussein and members of his former regime for crimes against humanity.
