A high-end seafood and steak restaurant is opening this winter in downtown Sarasota, and before then, the eatery — Ocean Prime — seeks to hire staff, from hosts to bakers.

Interviews start Sept. 23 for the waterfront restaurant that will open at The Quay in December, officials say.

Ocean Prime will have more than 350 seats, two bars, two private dining rooms and outdoor terraces while occupying two stories in The Quay’s Belle Haven building, according to a statement.

The Sarasota Ocean Prime will be the fourth in Florida for the brand, which is known for its menu featuring seafood, prime steaks, hand-rolled sushi, side dishes and desserts. Other Ocean Prime restaurants are in Naples, Orlando and Tampa. A Fort Lauderdale location is set to open in 2025. There are 18 Ocean Prime restaurants across the country, from California to New York, within the Cameron Mitchell Restaurants group.

Nick Pratt, executive chef at Ocean Prime Orlando, will be leading the culinary team as the executive chef in Sarasota. Ethan Delk, who also comes from the Ocean Prime family of restaurants, will be the general manager.

“We are excited to bring our exceptional hospitality and dining experience to Sarasota and are looking for enthusiastic team members eager to be a part of a team that creates memorable moments for our guests,” Delk says in a statement.

Open positions include bartender, baker, server assistant, line cook, food runner, server/cocktailer, prep cook, guest services/host and general utilities/polisher. Among the benefits are paid holidays, vacation days, group health and dental insurance, flexible scheduling, paid training, promotional opportunities, retirement plans and maternity leave, according to a statement.

Interviews will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Ocean Prime Sarasota, Belle Haven, 601 Quay Commons. Job seekers can also apply online. According to the job listings, training is set to begin in mid-November.
