Sarasota real estate giant names new CRE director

Commercial real estate veteran David Perry has been hired by Sarasota’s Michael Saunders & Co. as a director in its MS&C Commercial Division.

According to a statement from the firm, he comes to Michael Saunders & Co. after 12 years as national director of real estate for Terra Realty Group.

In that role, the statement says, he “spearheaded the development and lease-up of neighborhood strip centers ranging from 6,000 (square feet) to 30,000 square feet. His responsibilities included identifying prime retail locations, negotiating leases and overseeing project presentations to local governments.”

Other highlights include identifying and managing sites for 7-Eleven developments throughout Florida as site acquisition manager for Retail Site Experts; overseeing site selection and development of 36 senior care facilities valued at up to $20 million each as director of land services at Mainstreet Realty; and overseeing multiple development projects across state and international boundaries for brands like Walgreens, Rite Aid and AutoZone as vice president of real estate development at Baldridge Real Estate.

“His performance history in managing large projects, site selection, contract negotiation and executing complex deals will enhance our capabilities and drive growth within the commercial sector,” Michael Saunders & Co. says in a statement.

MS&C is one of the largest real estate firms in the region.
