The Reserve Retreat, a boutique hotel outside downtown Sarasota made up of three buildings with previous ties to the Ringling family and its performers, recently lost most of its shingles during this hurricane season.

Owners Jessica Simmons and Sarah Sellers were concerned about the future of the 100-year-old property when they got a call from Jason Polly, president of Roof EZ, who was looking for ways to serve the community after the storms.

“We are excited to be able to help save The Reserve,” Polly says in a statement from the hotel. “We will tear off the old roof, replace any decking that is bad, and re-shingle. We look forward to making sure the historic landmark buildings are preserved for guests many years to come.”

Roof EZ is a Cape Coral based company formed in 2022 with additional offices in Venice and Tampa.

The Reserve Retreat was purchased by Simmons in 2016. The Reserve property features six rooms, two restaurants, and coffee and wine shop. The Reserve Retreat is at 1322 N. Tamiami Trail.
