8 new flights added at Fort Myers airport

During the first two weeks of October, Breeze Airways is rolling out new flights between Fort Myers and eight destinations. In honor of what it is calling "Breeze Week," Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) has illuminated its air traffic control tower blue. 

Here are the new markets and dates Breeze Airways service starts out of RSW:

  • Portsmouth, New Hampshire (PSM), Oct. 10
  • Bangor, Maine (BGR), Oct. 5
  • Burlington, Vermont (BTV), Oct. 4
  • Lansing, Michigan (LAN), Oct. 3
  • Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Pennsylvania (AVP),Oct. 3
  • Islip-Long Island, New York (ISP), Oct. 2
  • Manchester, New Hampshire (MHT), Oct. 2
  • Stewart/Newburgh, New York (SWF), Oct. 2

The airline will offer weekly service between the above locations and Fort Myers, officials say.

Founded in 2021, Breeze Airways seeks to provide flights between underserved cities, bypassing hubs to allow for shorter travel times, according to the airline. It serves more than 60-plus cities in 30 states.

Breeze Airways now offers nonstop flights to more than two dozen locations out of the Fort Myers airport.
