Tampa Law firm Hill Ward Henderson has extended its lease in the Bank of America Plaza in downtown Tampa for 12 more years — through 2037.

At that point the firm, which also has an office in Clearwater, will have been in the landmark Tampa building, at 101 E. Kennedy Blvd. for 51 years: It opened an office there in 1986, the same year the building opened, according to a statement. The firm has since grown from seven attorneys to more than 120 and is staffed by nearly 250 total employees.

The firm will continue to occupy the 35th through the 38th floors of the building, with a total footprint of some 83,000 square feet, the release states.

“We are pleased to renew our commitment to the Tampa Bay Region and specifically downtown Tampa,” Managing Shareholder Robert Fulton says in the release. “As one of the largest Tampa Bay based and owned law firms, it is a privilege to be a part of our region’s thriving downtown business community. The significant lease extension gives our firm the opportunity to maintain and expand our solid, stable and sustainable practice and business platform in one of our area’s top office buildings. It also positions our firm for future growth to serve our burgeoning community and client base.”
