NewSouth Window Solutions is laying off 225 people in Tampa.

The company announced in a letter to the state Tuesday that it was cutting the jobs at a facility at 10741 Crossroads Commerce Blvd.

The window manufacturer says the layoffs are due to a discontinuation of a product line, but did not provide further details.

In the letter, sent to meet federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification requirements, NewSouth Window Solutions writes that it has notified employees and that the cuts are expected to begin Jan. 18 and to be completed by Feb. 1.

NewSouth Window Solutions was founded in 2010. It specializes in manufacturing and installing high-performance, energy-efficient replacement windows and doors.

It was bought by Venice-based PGT Innovations in 2019 for $92 million. PGT, in turn, was sold to Pennsylvania-based window and door manufacturer Miter Brands in a deal that closed earlier this year.
