A Bradenton-based dealer of emergency and vocational apparatus has expanded its offerings to include refuse and recycling vehicles. Ten-8 Industrial will be the exclusive dealer for McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing, serving Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Missouri.

Ten-8 Industrial is a newly created subsidiary of Ten-8 Fire and Safety, a company founded in 1985 that deals in emergency and vocational apparatus, fire equipment, PPE service, repair and parts in the southeastern United States. Expanding into refuse and recycling vehicles was a logical next step, company officials say.

“We are very excited to launch our Ten-8 Industrial Division with McNeilus refuse trucks,” Ten-8 President and CEO Keith Chapman says in the statement. “As the premium refuse trucks in the market, these products will fit perfectly into our product portfolio.”

Part of the Ten-8 mission is to provide service for its vehicles. To that end, Ten-8 Industrial will offer refuse-only certified service centers out of Lakeland and Villa Rica, Georgia, according to the statement. It will also deploy factory-trained mobile technicians throughout the region and provide a support team dedicated to keeping fleets in service.

McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing, which is based in Minnesota, is an Oshkosh Corporation business. It sells front, side and rear loaders as well as electric refuse and recycling vehicles. Officials with McNeilus say the agreement with Ten-8 will enable it to better serve emerging markets.

“We are thrilled to deepen our relationship with Ten-8 Industrial and enhance our coverage in the Southeast, ensuring customers have access to the industry’s best equipment and support,” McNeilus Vice President and General Manager Lee Dreas says in the statement. “Ten-8 has a proven record of providing exceptional service and support, and their expansion into refuse truck parts, sales and service aligns perfectly with our independent dealership network strategy.”
