A St. Petersburg home along Brightwaters Boulevard is on the market for $11.25 million, according to Bonnie Strickland, the CEO of The Strickland Group and a broker for Coldwell Banker.
Strickland says the home at 321 Brightwaters Blvd. has 142 feet of protected waterfront and 5,378 square feet of living space, with four bedrooms and five baths.
It features original hardwood floors, three fireplaces, tall arched walkways and windows, hand-painted Italian-inspired interiors and an attached one-car garage.
The home also has a separate two-car garage and workspace, a heated pool with a waterslide, a dock with a boat lift, and a vast resort-style backyard with tropical landscaping and numerous decks for entertaining, according to a statement.Â
Overlooking protected Coffee Pot Bayou, it is one of the only waterfront homes in Snell Isle to face west, Strickland says, "offering spectacular golden sunset views and an ever-changing vista of avian and marine life."
The bayou has sailboat deep water, provides calm protection during storms and quick, direct access to open Tampa Bay waters.
"The home is a historical masterpiece and timeless gem, marrying the charm of Mediterranean architecture with the luxury of modern living," Strickland says in the statement. "The bird sanctuary and preserve is beautiful to watch as types of birds come in each season as well as manatees and dolphins."
The home is inside the Snell Isle neighborhood of St. Petersburg along covet Brightwaters Boulevard Northeast and sits on a 0.41-acre double lot.
The home is named "Villa Florentina," and was built by renowned architect S.V. Schooley for C. Perry Snell, Strickland says. Snell was a prominent St. Pete developer who lived from 1869 to 1942, according to the University of South Florida.
The home features intricate details inspired by Venetian palazzos and Spanish haciendas. It was renovated in the 2000s to preserve its significance, Strickland says.
