Naples-based custom homebuilder Gulfstream Homes has expanded its remodeling division to meet what it calls a spike in demand for high-end home remodeling services.

The company has added three new employees, additional crews focused primarily on remodeling and enhanced design and build procedures, according to a statement. Company officials say increased demand for home remodeling in Southwest Florida “is due to several factors including Hurricane Ian damage, the desire to update luxury homes and condominiums built in the Mediterranean design boom and the desire of homeowners to stay on their current lot and update their home without relocating.”

Remodeling projects include home additions such as a second story or added wing; exterior renovations such as the removal of arched windows; and openings for an updated look or whole home interior remodeling to obtain a more open floor plan.

“Many people are opting to stay in their current homes because of location or land value, and many newcomers to Southwest Florida are making real estate purchases for the same reasons,” Gulfstream Homes co-founder Michael Peel says in the release.

Gulfstream Homes was founded in 1998.
