JetSet Pilates, a national brand founded in Miami in 2010, is scheduled to open two new locations in Tampa. One will be at 1413 S. Howard Ave. in the Soho neighborhood and the other will be downtown in the AER apartment building at 300 W. Tyler St.

Franchise owners Lauren and Patrick Christopher have a total of eight locations planned for the Tampa Bay area, according to a statement.

Pilates as a practice was invented in the early 20th century to help dancers with recovery. It is increasing in popularity today because it helps participants of various ages and body types increase flexibility and strengthen muscle tone. According to industry research firm IBIS World, the Pilates and yoga industries are forecasted to be valued at $14.7 billion by the end of 2024.

“We chose to enter the fitness industry because it provides an opportunity for anyone to better themselves, physically and mentally. I’ve practiced Pilates for many years and while I love the low impact, highly effective workout I always felt something was missing from the experience until I discovered JetSet,” says Tampa franchise owner Lauren Christopher in a statement. “It’s an extremely elevated and luxurious atmosphere in every way, from the lighting and music to level of intensity.”

JetSet offers drop in, class pack and membership options included a $279 monthly unlimited membership. Introductory classes for potential new clients start at $19 per class. Each studio will feature 16 Custom Advanced Reformer machines.
