It’s been a busy summer for Home Love Construction. Soon after announcing its move into the plumbing industry and acquiring local design firm Evans Design, the Clearwater firm is now adding an additional 3,000-square-foot training facility.
The aim of the space, also in Clearwater, is to train additional contractors and employees as it continues to grow as a company and seek to position the business as industry leaders.
"I learned how to run a construction company, but I had to piece together how to do it from many different mentors plus trial and error," says Brad Bachand, CEO of Home Love Construction & Outdoor, in a statement. "That trial and error can be skipped with effective training, which is what we'll provide here in our training facility."
The move comes during shifting trends in the construction industry. According to a survey released by Associated Builders and Contractors, 58% of respondents cited labor shortage as “severe” or “very severe,” citing baby boomers transitioning out of the field as the biggest contributing factor. The U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics expects 57,900 jobs to be added to the industry by 2032, with most education occurring on the job.
