Six homebuilders will construct a new gated neighborhood in the master-planned community of Wellen Park, with amenities channeling coastal New England.
Called Palmera, the neighborhood will feature semi-custom homes on oversized lots. Its first phase will include 400 homes built by veteran Wellen Park builders Neal Communities and Mattamy Homes as well as newcomers M/I Homes, which is based in Ohio; ICI Homes of Daytona Beach; Homes by Towne, in six states from Hawaii to Florida; and David Weekley Homes, headquartered in Houston.
Each house at Palmera, according to a statement, will contain 2,300 to 5,000-plus square feet under air and feature two- and three-car garages. Palmera will also offer townhomes and coach homes from 1,400 to 1,800 square feet.
Amenities will include a clubhouse with fitness center, golf simulator and casual 19th hole-type restaurant with event space. A resort-style pool, separate lap pool, splash pad, playground, pickleball courts, fire pit lounge, multipurpose field and nature trail connected to Wellen Park’s 30 miles of trails and pathways will also be among the offerings.
“We are excited to introduce even more options for our homebuyers and welcome new nationally recognized builders to our community,” President of Wellen Park Rick Severance says in the statement. “Residents of Palmera will find the right home and floor plan for their preferences. They will also experience an incredible lifestyle and a close-knit neighborhood feel with amazing amenities.”
Wellen Park is a master-planned community in North Port. Palmera will have an entrance on Preto Boulevard south of Manasota Beach Road and be located within the Playmore district. Other districts of Wellen Park include West Villages and Downtown Wellen, which has shops and restaurants.
When built out, Wellen Park will have 50,000 residents. Currently 9,500 people live there.
