Coral Gables-based Amerant Bank is on a roll positioning itself in the Tampa area. On the heels of appointing new leadership and establishing a corporate office, it recently signed a multi year partnership with the Tampa Bay Rays, becoming the official bank sponsor.

As part of the official bank designation, Amerant Bank will have branding posted throughout Tropicana Field and over the game-day broadcast. It will also have promotional use of the Rays trademark, according to a statement.

“We are excited to enter into this multi-year partnership with the Tampa Bay Rays,” says Jerry Plush, chairman and CEO of Amerant Bank in the statement. “With our recent expansion in the greater Tampa market, including our first branch location and new regional headquarters, we are building on our reputation of aligning with well-known and respected organizations with strong roots in the local community. We see this partnership with the Rays as another great opportunity to align Amerant with a terrific franchise that embodies the history and culture of Tampa Bay.”

The Rays are the fourth team added to the roster of sports franchises partnered with Amerant. The Florida Panthers, Miami Heat and Miami Marlins also count the company as a sponsor.

Amerant Bank is the main subsidiary of Amerant Bank Corp, and has $9.79 billion in assets. It has one branch location at its regional headquarters in the Westshore district of Tampa and dozens of ATMs spread throughout the region.
