A Parrish-based poop-scooping business has expanded its reach thanks to a recent acquisition.
DoodyCalls on the Suncoast — which serves Sarasota and Manatee counties and St. Petersburg — has acquired Clearwater-based pet waste removal company ByBypoo. Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed.
"We are thrilled to welcome ByByPoo's customers to the DoodyCalls family," says Kara Kelsey, co-owner of DoodyCalls on the Suncoast, in a statement. "This acquisition aligns with our goal to provide the best possible service to our clients and contribute to cleaner, healthier communities. ByByPoo's dedication to customer satisfaction mirrors our own, and we look forward to building on their success."
DoodyCalls on the Suncoast serves both residential and commercial clients. Residents can get poop pickup services as well as patio, sidewalk or deck deodorization. Commercial clients like homeowners’ associations or dog parks can have personalized waste pickup stations created and poop patrols conducted by DoodyCall technicians. The company also offers goose poop pickup services and brown-spot treatment for discolored grass.
Technicians are uniformed and drive marked vehicles, and they offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee; if for any reason people are concerned they missed a spot, technicians will come out within 24 hours to fix the problem. However, the company says it has a system for ensuring that its members get all the poop the first time, walking through each property on a grid-like pattern and going back through it a second time to be sure.
Cleanings can occur multiple times a week, weekly or monthly or as a one-time service. Services start at $12 and depend on the amount of poop.
According to DoodyCalls, the average dog leaves about 0.75 pound a day to pick up, which amounts to 5.25 pounds a week and almost 275 pounds a year.
DoodyCalls on the Suncoast is part of a company that started 24 years ago and began franchising 20 years ago. The corporate office is headquartered in Charlottesville, Virgina. Average gross revenue per franchisee for 2023 was more than $392,000 but varies individually, according to the company.
