Salt & Light Holistic Spa in North Port is doubling its space and adding a retail component as part of the process.

The spa at 2453 Sycamore St. has already begun work on the project and is expected to add new services including an infrared sauna and ion detox footbaths, according to the city of North Port’s economic development department.

The department announced the news in a LinkedIn post Tuesday.

Salt & Light says in a Facebook post that it is expanding into an adjacent space and as part of its growth it will offer rental space to like-minded businesses with the goal of creating a “one stop holistic shop for all your healing needs.”

That space will be called Salt & Light Suites. According to the city’s LinkedIn post, the “vision is to include clinical therapy, nutrition, chiropractic and acupuncture services, providing a holistic one-stop-shop for customers.”

The spa was opened in 2022 by Leslie Copeland or her daughter Ciara. According to the About Us section of the spa’s website, both suffered from years of chronic illnesses and while looking for help discovered holistic natural medicines and remedies.

Salt & Light did not respond to a request for comment.
