Prominent Sarasota CPA firm promotes HR executive

Sarasota-based CPA firm Kerkering, Barberio & Co. has promoted Lori Leutwyler from human resources manager to director of people operations.

Leutwyler, who has been with Kerkering, Barberio since 2019, will “be focused on the overall employee experience, ensuring that KB remains an exceptional employer that attracts and retains talented staff while supporting and encouraging them to achieve their personal and professional goals,” according to a statement. 

Leutwyler, the company adds, has a diverse HR background that includes recruiting, employee relations, employment law, training, employee wellness and more. She worked in HR roles for the Charlotte and Pasco county school districts, and prior to that she worked for Tampa staffing firm Kforce. 

“Lori has a keen focus on elevating our workforce and nurturing a dynamic organizational culture,” Kerkering, Barberio Managing Shareholder Rob Lane says in the statement. 

Founded in 1972 and now with locations in downtown Sarasota, Lakewood Ranch and Tampa, Kerkering, Barberio is one of the largest independent CPA firms in the region.
