Family-owned St. Pete contracting firm Power Design is getting electrical vehicle owners across the country plugged in. The company recently partnered with Blink Charging out of Bowie, Maryland, for the installation of 429 Blink chargers, with a total of 723 plugs for use by residents who will be living and working within Power Design projects throughout the country.
“Power Design is excited to be collaborating with Blink to integrate their EV charging offerings within a number of our projects,” Power Design energy account manager Mike Kuhn says in a statement. “As the demand for EVs continues to rise, so does the need for accessible and reliable EV charging services where people live. This is where the value-added benefit of on-site charging takes living spaces to the next level of modern convenience and resident-friendly amenities.”
The two organizations have been working together on several projects over the past decade. The chargers for this project will be installed mostly in multifamily apartments and condominiums.
Blink Charging was founded in 2009 and “has contracted, sold, or deployed nearly 85,000 charging ports worldwide” according to a released statement on its website.
Power Design was founded in 1989 in the garage of Mitch and Dana Permuy and has since scaled into a regional business that hit the $1 billion mark in revenue in 2023.
