A Sarasota entrepreneur has sold his plumbing business as he prepares to retire. Jeffrey Sarmiento transitioned ownership of his company, Greater Bay Plumbing, to a strategic buyer, according to a statement.
The buyer is Dan Tulchin, CEO of Sundream, which currently owns 10 HVAC and plumbing businesses across Florida. It is an operating business under St. Petersburg-based Hey Brother Industries.
“We continue to capitalize on our existing infrastructure in the state,” Tulchin says on LinkedIn, where he announced the recent purchase of the Sarasota plumbing company, Sundream's third acquisition in a month. Among its other recent acquisitions was Absolute Air Conditioning & Heating of Clearwater in November.
Viking Mergers and Acquisitions helped facilitate the deal with the Sarasota plumbing company. Sarmiento told the mergers and acquisitions team that his goals were to honor the company’s legacy, support his staff and provide the opportunity to stay involved in the business during the transition, according to a statement. He engaged the firm in the process of looking for a buyer in June, and on Dec. 2, Viking announced the acquisition.
"Our focus was finding a buyer who shared Jeff's values and vision,” Jacob Middleton of Viking Mergers & Acquisitions says in a statement. “Dan's leadership ensures the continued success of Greater Bay Plumbing.”
