Primo Brands Corp. (NYSE: PRMB), parent company of Saratoga Spring Water, recently announced that the cobalt blue featured in its packaging and branding was given an official designation by the Pantone Color Institute. The color is now called Saratoga Signature Blue: Color 286 C.

"Saratoga Signature Blue is a brilliant cobalt blue whose energizing radiance stirs the soul," says Laurie Pressman, vice president of Pantone Color Institute, in a statement. "With its rich jewel-like presence and inherent message of sophistication, Saratoga Signature Blue is infused with an arresting beauty, evoking drama and luxury."

The release notes that cobalt blue in housewares and decor dates back to 2000 BC with the discovery of cobalt aluminate glass in Mesopotamia. Saratoga Springs has used blue bottles since its founding in 1872, though the color changed to a deeper hue over the years.

Primo Brands was founded in 1952 as Primo Water Corp. with headquarters in Tampa and includes other notable water brands in its portfolio such as Mountain Valley, Deer Park and Zephyrhills.

In November, it merged with Stamford, Connecticut-based BlueTriton Brands to form Primo Brands. The newly merged organization considers both towns as dual headquarters and employs 11,000 people at more than 50 production facilities and more than 200 depots across North America.
