A Sarasota company specializing in cardiac remote monitoring has acquired a management system for patients’ cardiac device data. PaceMate acquired Paceart Optima, which was owned by Minnesota-based Medtronic. The financial terms of the Aug. 26 deal were not disclosed.
PaceMate provides cardiac data management and remote monitoring through a cloud solution, according to PaceMate CEO Tripp Higgins. He says PaceMate requires neither hardware installation nor maintenance.
On the other hand, “Paceart is an on premise solution (servers/hardware),” Higgins tells the Business Observer.
With the addition of Paceart Optima, PaceMate will expand its global reach from 200 clinics to nearly 1,200 worldwide, according to Higgins.
PaceMate’s acquisition of Paceart Optima was strategic, positioning the company to expand its reach as the provider of the most comprehensive cardiac remote monitoring solution, according to a statement.
"Our shared values, dedication to customer experience, and commitment to exceptional patient-centric cardiac solutions make this agreement a perfect fit," Higgins says in the statement.
PaceMate supports a full spectrum of cardiac devices, including implantables, ambulatory monitors, heart failure devices and remote patient monitors.
