A commercial property and casualty insurance company based in Lakewood Ranch was ranked among the best construction insurance companies of 2024 by Insurance Business America magazine.

FCCI Insurance Group earned a five-star rating from the business magazine, which reports it was among 13 companies to achieve that status.

To come up with its ratings, the magazine surveyed a range of brokerages and hundreds of brokers across the country about construction insurance companies they had worked with in the past 12 months. Among the areas discussed were coverage, value for money, underwriting experience, claims processing speed, risk mitigation, payment processing speed and customer service, according to a statement from FCCI. Companies that ranked the highest when it came to work quality, client service and specialist expertise were given the five-star rating, according to Insurance Business America.

"We are pleased to be recognized by Insurance Business and our amazing customers with this distinction among the best construction insurance companies in the country," President and CEO of FCCI Insurance Group Cina Welch says in a statement. "As a company founded by building contractors in 1959 to provide workers' compensation coverage, it's a testament to our commitment and longevity that FCCI was chosen in our 65th anniversary year for this honor.”
