Starting this fall, Avelo Airlines is adding a flight between Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) and Philadelphia/Wilmington, Delaware (IHG). It is the second season the discount airline will offer the route.

“After a successful inaugural season, we are thrilled to see the return of nonstop service between Philadelphia/Wilmington and Sarasota/Bradenton,” Sarasota Bradenton International Airport President and CEO Rick Piccolo says in a statement. “Our passengers have shared their enjoyment with flying Avelo on this convenient, reliable, nonstop route.”

IHG serves the Philadelphia region and Delaware Valley, spanning southeastern Pennsylvania, Delaware, south New Jersey and the northern part of Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

Avelo Airlines flies to 54 destinations, and each route includes one small, easy-to-use airport, according to the company. The airline also offers a flight between SRQ and Connecticut’s Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN).

“We’re excited to continue growth in the Sarasota/Bradenton region and bring back our nonstop, seasonal route to Philadelphia," Avelo Airlines founder and CEO Andrew Levy says in the statement. "This nonstop service will also make enjoying Sarasota/Bradenton’s famous beaches and high-flying attractions a fast and seamless journey for Delaware Valley travelers.”

Service from SRQ to IHG will start Nov. 23 and operate twice weekly on Wednesday and Saturdays. Flights will be in Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft, according to a statement. Fares start at $57 for a one-way ticket. Booking is available at AveloAir.com.
