Tampa International Airport

Despite heavy wind and rain from Hurricane Debby, Tampa International Airport remains open but officials are urging ravelers to check with their airlines to get the latest information of the status of their flights.

The airport says that heavying winds, rain and lightning can lead to pauses in flight operations and that the storm continues to cause major flight disruptions in the state.

Delays and cancellations are expected to increase throughout the day, TPA says.

As of 10:45 a.m., the SRQ departures page was showing nine of 16 flights were canceled, two were delayed and five were on time.
