A Scottish technology firm is opening an office and operations center in Tampa across from International Plaza and plans to hire 100 employees.

Glasgow-based Systal Technology Solutions, which specializes in managed network, cloud and security transformation, has leased 5,422 square feet of space in the One Met Center building at MetWest International on Boy Scout Road.

The office will be the company’s North American hub and be staffed by engineers “managing, monitoring, and optimizing network performance” for clients.

The news was announced in a Thursday morning news release sent by the Tampa Economic Council.

Systal was founded in 2008 and manages tailored technology services for businesses across more than 3,500 sites in 93 countries.

Neil Nicolson, the company’s CEO, says in the release that the plan is to “scale our operations significantly over the coming years” in Tampa, though he did not give details. The EDC, though, says Systal plans to hire 100 people within the next year.
