An executive from Adobe Inc. has joined the board of directors for Roper Technologies.

John Murphy was named to the board of directors for the Lakewood Ranch-based technology company, according to a statement issued Monday. He was previously the executive vice president and chief financial officer of Adobe Inc., rising from other roles as its senior vice president, chief accounting officer, and controller. Before he worked for Adobe, Murphy was an executive with DIRECTV and Qualcomm.

Roper Technologies President and CEO Neill Hunn says the company and its board “look forward to working closely with John and leveraging his extensive software, technology, and financial expertise.”

In addition to Roper Technologies, Murphy is on two other public company boards.

“John is a fantastic addition to our board,” Amy Woods Brinkley, chair of the Roper Technologies board, says in the statement. “Given John’s background and experience as a technology and finance leader, we are confident he will make important contributions to Roper’s strategy and governance.”
