A Sarasota-based longtime nonprofit executive is putting her skills to work with her latest project, Deming Consulting.
Billed as a new strategic resource for nonprofits, the consultation practice provides assistance for nonprofits and their boards. The consultations stretch from governance assessments and board training to strategic human resources support and mergers.
Wendy Deming, the founder, has over two decades of leadership experience in nonprofit organizations, particularly in the Sarasota area.
“Over the course of my career, I’ve had a passion for helping nonprofits build the capacity of their organizations,” Deming says in a press release. “When they can achieve that, they’re in a better position to carry out their missions and serve their constituents.”
From 2002 to 2016, Deming was the chief of staff and corporate secretary at Sarasota-based Gulf Coast Community Foundation. She then moved into the foundation’s COO and corporate secretary roles between 2016 and 2018. During her time with GCCF, Deming created the Invest in Incredible initiative that provided education, training and consultation for area nonprofits, managed 12 consultants to advise organizations on how to build capacity and established the Gulf Coast Board Institute’s curriculum for the four-week training program for nonprofit board members.
Most recently, Deming was the COO and corporate secretary at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens where she’s been involved in the execution of strategic plans, board retreats and accreditations.
