Fort Myers airport lands nonstop service to Puerto Rico

Spirit Airlines has announced it will debut nonstop service between Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers and San Juan, Puerto Rico. 

The flights, operating four times weekly, will begin Dec. 15, officials with the airport, under the call letters RSW, say in a statement.   

RSW provides nonstop service to 62 destinations by16 air carriers. 

Spirit has previously announced nonstop flights from RSW to Charleston, South Carolina, Nashville, Richmond, Virginia and Norfolk will begin in November. Including those four and Puerto Rico, that brings the tally of nonstop flights out of RSW to 14.
