Things are about to get soapy in Sarasota and Bradenton as Woodie’s Wash Shack has announced the expansion of locations No. 15 and No. 16.

The family-owned St. Pete-based car wash chain has exploded across the state with a high-tech, membership-based business model that uses bright, colorful branding and 1950s surf culture nostalgia with the sounds of Jimmy Buffett, Kenny Chesney and the Beach Boys. The two new locations are located at 13825 State Road 70 E. in Bradenton and 6612 University Parkway in Sarasota.

Similar to other locations, these two will feature a rim and tire-safe conveyor belt, a 100- to 120-foot car wash tunnel for extended wash times and additional services, as well as a tunnel capable of accommodating vehicles up to 7’2” wide and 7’2” tall.

“Our commitment to providing top-notch car wash services and a unique, fun environment is unwavering,” Jake DeGeare, Woodie’s VP of marketing and sales, says in a release. “We’re excited to continue growing and sharing the Woodie’s vibe with the Sarasota (and) Bradenton communities.”

A grand opening is scheduled for Oct. 13 for both locations and will include special promotions like reduced membership fees.

According to the Woodie's Wash Shack website, there are 17 stores "coming soon" across Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco, Manatee, Sarasota, Hernando and Lee counties. After 2022, the company's development plans included building 15 wash shacks each year. The goal is to have 50 facilities operational by the end of 2026. Also according to the website, each location creates about 10 jobs.
