Two beachfront houses in Pinellas County have hit the market with multimillion-dollar price tags.
The houses — one in Belleair Shores and the other on Clearwater Beach — sit on the Gulf of Mexico and have the kind of views one would expect in their respective price ranges.
The Belleair Shores house is listed for $10.5 million and the Clearwater Beach home is listed for $6.99 million.
Engel & Völkers is representing both sellers.
The five-bedroom, four-bathroom Arthur Rutenberg designed house was built in 1979. According to the listing, the 6,583-square-foot house sits on 1.08-acres and has vaulted ceilings, a gourmet kitchen with eat-in space and a butler’s kitchen on the first floor. There is also an office with a stone fireplace and built-in library shelving and two bedrooms.
On the second floor, there is a master suite with a private balcony and a two-bedroom suite with a living area and another private balcony.
The outside of the house has a wraparound deck with a stone pool that has multiple waterfalls, an elevated spa and a fire pit.
According to Pinellas property records, the house is currently owned by a trust.
In Clearwater, the 2,604-square-foot house was built in 1963 and is the southernmost house on the beach, standing alone among apartment and condo buildings
Engel & Völkers, and others, refer to it as the Holdout House because its owners held out against developers for so many years. Others know it as the Grey House and there’s even a Facebook page dedicated to it under that name.
Whatever you call it, the four-bedroom, three-bath house with stairs leading to the beach has a 180-degree waterfront view of both the Gulf and Clearwater Harbor. It has a wraparound porch, tropical landscaping and sits on under an acre of land.
Despite the home’s reputation, and the current owner’s reluctance to give in to developers, Engel & Völkers says in a press release that the house “presents enticing commercial development prospects owing to its historical significance and prime location.”
County property records show the home is currently owned by a Washington D.C.-based LLC named Mannion Brothers. It was last sold in 1986 to Elizabeth and Joseph Mannion who paid $133,200 for it.
