Ruth's Chris Steak House expands to Lakewood Ranch

A well-known upscale steak house is expanding in Sarasota County with a new location in Lakewood Ranch. 

The newest addition of Ruth’s Chris Steak House is located at 6490 University Parkway. The 7,016-square-foot space features a main dining room, a casual dining room, a bar and lounge, a patio with seating, and two private dining rooms. 

“The Lakewood Ranch location is our 16th in the state of Florida, representing an exciting expansion in the region that further entrenches us in this area’s fine dining scene,” Cheryl Henry, president of Ruth’s Chris Steak House, says in a release before adding the company will continue to look for more expansion opportunities in the future.

The restaurant is best known for its steaks, which are USDA prime beef cuts broiled in an 1,800-degree oven, seasoned and served on 500-degree plates. Ruth Fertel founded the steak house 58 years ago in New Orleans. Now there’s over 150 locations around the world. 

The newest location is the second in Sarasota County. The other location is off Tamiami Trail in Sarasota.
