Venice-based window and door manufacturer PGT Innovations, one of the largest private employers in the Sarasota-Manatee region, has added a new executive to its C-Suite: Craig Henderson has been named CFO and a senior vice president.
Henderson, after two decades in financial leadership at manufacturing and tech companies, joined PGT Innovations in 2021, when he was named vice president of finance. He was promoted to interim CFO in February, replacing John Kunz, who left the company. Brad West, CFO from 2014 to 2019, remains in his role as senior vice president of corporate development.
Henderson, the release states, will lead the company’s finance strategy, budgeting and planning, accounting, financial reporting, and investor relations functions. Prior to PGT, Henderson spent more than a decade with Virginia-based Trex, a manufacturer of wood-alternative decking and railing. He was also a senior manager in corporate finance for Dell for nearly a decade.
“Craig has demonstrated exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment to our company's financial success as interim CFO,” PGT Innovations President and CEO Jeff Jackson says in the release “His knowledge of our organization, coupled with his past experiences, will undoubtedly contribute to our ability to make well-informed financial decisions, and drive our company forward with confidence and stability. We look forward to his continued contributions in this critical role as we embark on the next phase of our journey towards innovation and growth.”
Henderson received his Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from Stetson University. “Being selected to serve as PGT Innovations’ Chief Financial Officer is an incredible opportunity, and I look forward to our exciting journey ahead,” Henderson says in the release.
The CFO appointment comes less than a week after another big announcement, when the company said it will open a 291,000-square-foot facility in Prince George County, Virginia, south of Richmond. The company plans to invest $54.3 million in the plant, according to a statement from the Virginia Economic Development Partnership.
PGT had $1.49 billion in revenue in 2022, making it the largest publicly traded company based in Sarasota County. That’s more than double the $744.9 million in revenue it had in 2019, the result of multiple acquisitions and organic growth in a booming homebuilding and real estate market. The company’s stock, traded on the Nasdaq under the symbol PGTI, closed Nov. 7 at $31.35 a share, up slightly from late October.
PGT Innovations, a leader in the fenestration and garage door industries and the nation’s largest manufacturer of impact-resistant windows and doors, was founded in 1980. Brands in the company include Triple Diamond Glass, a wholly owned subsidiary; CGI; PGT Custom Windows and Doors; WinDor; Western Window Systems; Anlin Windows & Doors; Eze-Breeze; Eco-Window Systems; NewSouth Window Solutions; and Martin Door.
