On March 18, Escape Homes will begin to accept deposits for the 30 units that will be part of the second phase of its Escape Tampa Bay Village tiny-home community, dubbed The Oaks.
The expansion is three times the size of the original development, according to a news release. It was first announced in early 2021.
"Tampa is booming," Escape Founder Dan Dobrowolski states in the release. "Forbes says it's Florida's best place to live and demand for our first Escape Tampa Bay Village was so strong that we developed a multimillion-dollar expansion of the next phase of tiny living next door."
The original Escape Tampa Bay Village was designed in 2020 as a prototype for the post-pandemic world, offering 10 eco-efficient tiny homes, ranging in size from 400 to 800 square feet, in a quiet, natural setting with access to bustling Tampa Bay. The units’ low cost — home purchase prices begin at $500 per month plus a $625 average monthly lot rental fee that includes water, sewer and garbage/recycling and designated parking — is well below Tampa’s median apartment rental rate, leading the community to quickly sell out.
“Little did we know we’d experience such demand so quickly,” Dobrowolski states in the release. “The opportunity to work remotely, reduce the carbon footprint and still live in a beautiful home for a fraction of the cost has energized people to take the step toward tiny living.”
Headquartered in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, Escape Homes debuted its tiny homes at a 300-acre resort community in Chetek, Wisconsin, called Canoe Bay. The company has also deployed tiny homes across the country as vacation rental units.
Escape Homes, the release states, will hold an open house at one of its latest tiny homes from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 1. For more information, visit EscapeTampaBay.com or call 844-696-3722.
