Laura DiBella, who was named Florida’s Secretary of Commerce and president and CEO of Enterprise Florida in February, will be one of three panelists at the Economic Development Corp. of Sarasota County’s annual economic outlook breakfast in May.

Other scheduled speakers and panelists for the May 18 event include Florida State University Chief Economist Jerry Parrish and Tampa Bay Partnership CEO Bemetra Simmons. The event will be held at The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota.

“Over the past couple of years our community has seen businesses and individuals flock to our area changing our landscape and economy,” EDC President and CEO Lisa Krouse says in a statement. “As talk of recession looms, and areas of opportunity for growth emerge, our business leaders are looking for the most up to date and reliable economic data.”

DiBella, deputy secretary of commerce since July 2022, was named to her post Feb. 6.
