TEDxBradenton has announced three speakers for its second annual event, scheduled for September. The speakers were chosen from among over 300 applications.
After launching the first TEDxBradenton last year, this one has been scheduled for Sept. 29 at the State College of Florida Manatee-Sarasota in Bradenton. This year’s theme is “Writing the Future.”
The first three speakers announced are Mark Gordon, Business Observer managing editor; Travis Ray, Dapper Bowtique founder and CEO; and Dominic Marino, Oyster Boys Conservation co-founder. The day-long event will feature 15 speakers in total. Robyn Faucy, a 2022 TEDxBradenton speaker and Results 1st CEO, will be the master of ceremony.
The event leans on community partners who can financially support costs like producing high quality videos, according to a press release.
“Together, the TEDx planning team has found a formula that works for visibility and connection at this event.” Evelyn Almodóvar, co-organizer, says in a release. That strategy led to last year’s videos being viewed over 15,000 times.
TEDx, an independently organized TED event, is a program designed to give a TED-like experience featuring TED Talks videos and live speakers. TED, most known for its TED Talks videos, got its start in 1984 as a technology, entertainment and design conference. Now it’s expanded to explore science, business, education, arts, global issues and more.
