A pair of Florida construction companies have merged.

Polk County-based A.O. Construction and Lake County-based Wagner Construction are the companies that merged, according to a statement. Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed and both entities will be subsidiaries of GOMA Inc., according to a statement.

"This is an exciting time for everyone involved," A.O. and GOMA President Gannon Olmert says in the statement. "We could not be more pleased to forge a future together and see our businesses grow."

Winter Haven-based A.O. has been serving the Central Florida market since 1960. Wagner Construction, founded in 2001, is based out of Leesburg with an office in Tampa. Wagner, the release states, will continue to do business under its own name.
