Pulte Homes is the latest homebuilder to be announced for Lakespur, a new gated community in Venice.

Pulte Homes, a national brand of Georgia-based PulteGroup Inc. purchased homesites within Lakespur, which is a neighborhood in the Wellen Park master-planned community. Pulte Homes expects to start construction on the single-family homes in early summer 2023.

“We are excited to introduce Pulte’s signature quality and consumer-inspired homes to homebuyers in Wellen Park,” says Josh Graeve, president of PulteGroup’s Southwest Florida Division in the statement. “Lakespur is convenient to local beaches, the Atlanta Braves spring training games and the newly completed Downtown Wellen with charming new dining, shopping, live music and outdoor recreation. The neighborhood will showcase the area’s beautiful natural settings and connect to Wellen Park’s miles of hiking and walking trails.”

The community’s first phase of homebuilding includes 137 single-family homes. It will also feature an 80-acre lake, three miles of lakefront trail, parks and outdoor gathering areas. Last year, Wellen Park was crowned the eighth fastest-selling U.S. community by John Burns Real Estate Consulting.

There are 13 neighborhoods announced within Wellen Park, according to its websites. Homes within the Lakespur neighborhood start in the $300,000s with home sales expected to start this fall. Miami-based Lennar is the other homebuilder for the neighborhood. Lakespur is located just off of U.S. 41.
