A new $5 million fitness facility in Parrish is getting prepared to open just as summer is heating up.

A Crunch Fitness franchisee, CR Fitness Holdings, is opening a 28,000-square-foot facility at the Creekside Commons shopping center in Parrish at 8840 U.S. 301. The opening date has not been set due to county permitting and inspections, a company spokesperson says, though the goal is to have the facility open by late summer.

The cost of land and construction for the facility, including equipment, was $5 million.

Membership rates will be offered at $9.99 per month on Saturday, June 24, for a one-day, online only sale. In addition, the first 500 members will get a free T-shirt, as well as small group and personal training discounts.

"We are looking forward to bringing the exciting and inclusive Crunch workout experience to the community surrounding our newest location in Parrish," says CR Fitness CEO Tony Scrimale in a release. "With top-quality equipment, amazing classes and personal training, there is something for everyone at an unbeatable value."

The facility will feature cardio and strength training equipment, a group fitness studio, cycling studio, HIITZone program, training area, saunas, HydroMassage Tanning, locker rooms and more.

The new location is part of a broader expansion goal for franchisee CR Fitness, which is growing its footprint in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and Texas. The company currently operates 48 locations, with the Parrish facility being its fifth in the Sarasota-Bradenton area.

In addition to the new location, the company has announced a $2.5 million expansion for its Crunch Fitness — Lakewood Ranch location, which is located east of Interstate 75 in Manatee County. The expansion will include $500,000 in new equipment, a stationary bike studio the company calls a Ride Theater, boxing studio and child care.
